BAND
HISTORY
Late Arrival is a high-energy rock
band based out of Springfield, Illinois. Formed in mid-2002, this band is
comprised of five seasoned musicians who have a passion for 80's classic rock
music. Late Arrival is fronted by Rod Grant, a very gifted lead singer who is
known as one of the best rock vocalists in central Illinois. All it takes is one
listen to understand why.
The story behind the formation of
this band is quite unique. In early 2001, John Cota (drummer and founder) heard Rod singing "Lady" by Styx in a karaoke bar on the west side of
Springfield, and was blown away by his exceptional vocal qualities and stage
presence. Afterwards, John asked Rod if he sang in a band. The answer was "No,
I have never even been in a band before."
The rest is history. After searching central Illinois for the next
year-and-a-half to fill the remaining positions with top-notch musicians and
vocalists, Late Arrival was finally formed in mid-2002 and began performing
publicly by the end of the year.
We hope you enjoy our music as
much as we like playing it for you. Late Arrival can be found playing in night
clubs and private parties in the central Illinois area several times a month.
